The Best Thursday Night in Norfolk is Back.

Shake off the workday and join us on the banks of the Lafayette River as we celebrate the return of the signature summer concert series! On Thursday, May 28, the Hermitage Museum and Gardens opens its gates for the first Sunsets on the River of 2026.

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly outing, a unique date night, or a place to unwind with friends, the gorgeous 12-acre waterfront estate provides the perfect backdrop for a night of music, food, and community.

Evening Highlights

• Live Music: We are thrilled to kick off the season with local favorites The Getdown, bringing their high-energy sound to our riverside stage.
• Local Eats: Skip the cooking! We’ll have a curated selection of Norfolk’s best food trucks on-site serving up fresh, local fare.
• Drinks with a View: Enjoy craft beer, wine, and refreshments available for purchase as you watch the sun dip below the horizon.

Parking can fill up fast! We recommend arriving early to snag your favorite spot on the lawn. Lawn chairs and blankets are highly encouraged!

Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted on the museum grounds.
