Let’s have some FUN!

This weekend will be the 15th annual Parrot Head Charity Beach Ball where the proceeds will go to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter. It's taking place at the Wyndham Oceanfront Resort on Atlantic Ave. at 57th Street starting at 6:30pm this Saturday night February 4th, 2012. It will be a night of music, spirits, food and a lot of fun! For the details here's the website...phcot.com. I'll be there ready to dance the night away. I do want to share with you why though. Of course it will be fun but unfortunately this disease is very personal to me. My family and I have done our own contributions to various chapters in my Dad's name in the hope of finding a cure. It will be 3 years on February the 8th we lost him to Alzheimer's. It's still a shock and heart-ache at the same time. So, this Saturday night will be another way for me to get involved. If you want to have some fun while doing something helpful in finding a cure, tickets are still available and again, get on the website for all of the details....phcot.com. I hope you can make it

I want to mention another gala fund-raiser that's taking place at the Military Aviation Museum on February the 11th, 2012. This will benefit the museum itself where historic war-planes will continue to have a home and will be able to be maintained. They want you to get dressed in your best 1940's attire and dance the night away. Here too will be food and drink and dancing and of course, a lot of fun. For these details get to this website...militaryaviationmuseum.org. For those of you who are crazy about history, you'll love being a part of this night!

Hope to see you out and about. And please always check BOB-FM's website to see where we are as well. Have a good one and as always, thanks for listening!

I love Chocolate Wine…

What's better than Chocolate? Really, I mean REALLY!!! So I'm really grateful for my family and friends but in regards to the title of this blog, I guess you can say it's the little things that can make a person's day too. Think about it, a great dinner when the day is done and a nice glass of wine to complement the meal and NOW, we have chocolate wines that you can enjoy as a desert!!! Me likey! We are gearing up for our "Art Of Chocolate" festival that will hit Hampton Roads in March of 2012. People, that means everything will be chocolate. I'm starting my diet NOW. Of course after we get done taste-testing this evening(that's what I'm doing as I write this blog...or should I say this afternoon). We've got to know what we are getting ourselves into....right? I have to head to the gym in just a short few but that's o.k. because I'll be ready when March rolls around. YUMMY!!

We do so so many events around here. I hope that you will join BOB-FM at all of them....especially the "Chocolate" One! Have a great night and thanks for keeping that KNOB ON BOB...may I have some more please?

Happy Holidays…

Wow, they are HERE! And I am NOT ready. As always. Let me just take this time to say all the very best to you and yours this holiday season. The good news is is that we will be airing the "A to Z" again...all the songs in the music library and no repeats. Now that's radio people! Great music all the time and around the clock! It all starts on December the 26th! Have fun. Be safe. And I will see you and talk with you in the new year! AND, thank you so much for keeping your "Knob on Bob"! PEACE

I did it!!

Well I did it! I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane 14,000 feet high and parachuted back down to the ground. You may think I'm crazy but it was all for a wonderful amazing cause. And here's the scary part, I'd do it again!!! The Wounded Warrior Project is why we were out at Skydive Suffolk all day yesterday, August the 14th. Wounded service men and women with their families in tow came from all over the United States to have their opportunity to Skydive. They were all wounded heroes who just wanted a chance to have some fun for a day. And for the rest of us, it was our chance to say "thank you" to them for what they have done for our country and our freedoms. On-air for the past couple of weeks we've been asking you wonderful listeners to donate whatever you could to the Wounded Warrior Project by getting on line at woundedwear.com. If you donated thank you so much for doing so. If you haven't and would still like to please go to that website. Anything you can do is very much appreciated. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the families of the fallen Seals from last weekends attack. We definitely had those men and their families in our thoughts and prayers yesterday too.

Well that's it for me. Such an emotional day. Check out the video for some laughs (but try not to laugh too too hard). And when you get to the part where I'm inside the plane heading up into the sky, notice the first jumper to go...that was why I did what I did. It was very powerful. Peace to you all and as always thanks for listening.
